It’s summer and with it comes lots of opportunity to photograph community events. Events can range from smaller farmer’s markets, antique car shows and parades to larger events such as rodeos, festivals and even the PanAm games hosted this year in Toronto. The choice of event is entirely up to you. Images will be judged on creativity, ability to tell the story of the event, and of course they must have the basic elements of exposure and composition.
First Round: Initial judging will take place during upload. If your image is chosen as a first round qualifier it will appear in the gallery. All others will be deleted. Typically entries are judged within 24hrs of upload.
Second Round: Finalist judging will take place immediately upon closing of the assignment. Finalists will be notified for hi resolution images for further judging.
Final Round: A winner will be chosen from the finalists and contacted.
Prizes: The winning image will be published in the Fall (October 2015) issue of OPC and the winner will receive a signed copy of Mike Grandmaison’s Muskoka coffee table book.
