A 4 hour overnight drive to the secluded Ram River Falls in the Eastern Rockies of Alberta paid off with a great sunrise on this morning. After a short hike to this spot in the dark with my colleague to the viewing area, our banter and conversation along the way scared off a young black bear that was hanging out nearby, and we setup to start shooting. Fall colors adorned the backdrop of the falls on this crisp September morning, and the fast moving backlit clouds facing West here set things up nicely for a long exposure image. Using the steep path along the drop as a leading line towards the falls, I came away with an image I was quite happy with, and the long drive back down the forestry trunk roads was all worth it.
