Greetings fellow nature photographers! It’s a great honour to be your new bird photography columnist.


I have been obsessed with birds and bird photography for more than a decade. I plan to share some of my favourite tips, techniques and locations with you. There’s something about the challenge of capturing great images of these difficult subjects that really excites me.

Birds are beautiful, diverse and fascinating subjects that can be found just about anywhere. Photographing them can be tricky though. In this column I wish to share my passion for bird photography and inspire you to get out there and capture captivating images of birds. In this issue we’ll look at strategies for getting great images of waterfowl.
