How to Enter
To enter the contest you must first register for the Readers Pick Gallery - it's free! Then upload your best photos (limit 10 per person per contest). It's that easy.
How to Win
Winners are chosen by you! Here is how it works:
Only registered users can rate and upload images. Guests are permitted to view only.
To Vote: View as many images as you wish by clicking on the ones you like. If you want to vote for the image, just give it a rating from 1 to 5 (5 being the best). You may only vote once per image. There is space to leave a comment for the photographer so please offer helpful suggestions or praise. Please use the voting criteria on the gallery home page for rating each image. Please judge your peers fairly as you would hope they will judge yours.
How to Judge the contest:
Technical points (max 3)
1 point for good composition.
Composition is a sense of order in the image which enhances your subject. Is it clear to the viewer what the subject is?
1 point for focus. The use of focus enhances your subject. The subject must be razor sharp.
1 point for proper exposure.
Creative element points (max 2)
1 point for creativeness.
1 point for the overall WOW factor. Does the image make you go WOW!?
A perfect image (which is harder to achieve than it sounds) has all technical and creative elements scored (5).
For each technical or creative element that is weak or missing altogether points are lost for each.
We do not give out 0 so the lowest score possible is 1.
When the contest closes the top 5 images will move on to final selection. The Editor-in-chief will then choose the winner and that image will be featured in the next issue of Outdoor Photography Canada magazine. To find out who won - pick up the issue at your local newsstand or become a subscriber today!
A new contest will begin as soon as the old one closes. All images will be cleared from the gallery to mark the start of the next contest.
Prize: The winner will receive $100 from the publisher, a signed copy of Mike Grandmaison's Canada coffee table book and a SanDisk 4GB USB drive for appearing in Outdoor Photography Canada magazine.
To enter the contest please register free via our Gallery (a new window will open).
Good Luck, and have fun!
