Outdoor Photography Canada

Good morning all. I have just discovered this magazine/site, and am very glad to see a Canadian magazine dedicated to outdoor photography.

I live and work in the Ottawa area. I was introduced to photography by a friend, who steered me towards the purchase of a solid, plain black-box manual Pentax camera in 1988. That was a great camera, it seemed to be impervious to rain, heat and the occasional knock. As I learned, I was always happy to spend my spare time walking through interesting neighbourhoods or areas of nature, taking shots.

In time, I have been able to develop more skills with both film and digital cameras, and have expanded into more challenging (for me) subjects. I am always trying new techniques in an attempt to improve my skills and knowledge, and admit I have much to learn.

Very glad to see this venue, there are amazing galleries here and clearly very talented photographers amongst the membership. I look forward to learning from you all.
