New issue and no feedback ????

I can't believe that the new issue of OPC has just come out and there is no feedback, in fact this whole OPC forum seems to have died - so let me be one of the first to comment on the latest (Winter 2010) issue. I enjoyed Darwin Wiggett's articles on Breaking the Rules and on his Advanced Shooter article on Winter Blues. These give me some new thoughts on my own photography when I am out next. :!:

The article by John Sylvester on PEI brings back memories of a trip I made there a number of years ago - makes me want to go back with his article in my luggage. :)

The profile of Kas Stone is great - makes me aware of another great Canadian photographer.

I am not going to comment on each and every article except to say that they are up to the usual high standards I have come to expect from OPC. Keep it up!! :) Now, if I could just figure out the Caption Me image all would be great. :?:

Cheers,

WesternGuy

New issue and no feedback ????

WesternGuy - I agree, this forum is awful quiet, but perhaps if a few of us begin commenting it will encourage more to join.

I am still getting caught up on back issues, reading the final one now. Should be finished reading the latest by Tues or Wed and will add my thoughts then.

Cheers Have a Merry Xmas.

Agree, seems to be difficult to get any sustained discussions going in these forums.

Even with 562 members on this forums, very few ever post anything. The majority (around 500) have at most 2 posts or less to their name :? Need to do something to get them all involved! Or maybe it is just the Canadian way to not have much of anything to say at all :P

New Issue and no feedbacK ?????

Peter, so we have 562 members on this forum - nice to know :D . Hopefully we can get some of them to start participating in the discussions. Maybe the forum(s) need to be reworked? I don't pretend to know what the answer is, but it just seems to me that we have an excellent photography publication on outdoors Canada and yet, for whatever reason, "we" do not seem to be able to get its website active on discussions of Canadian outdoor photography by other Canadians. Go figure? :o As was said, maybe if we get a few of us going, others will be tempted to join in and have "something to say". Here's hoping!! :) Bluenose, looking forward to some more of your images.

Cheers,

WesternGuy

It takes time and lots of chatty members to get a forum going. I've been a moderator on an outdoor forum for over 2 years, and we now have more than 13,000 members. Once the membership starts gaining some momentum, the forum will get busier with posts. Just be patient, as I can see that we are starting to get some core people on here.
