Hi,
To post pictures to this site, you need to have them hosted on a web site somewhere. They need to be somewhere that they could be accessed via a web browser through a URL. In other words, they need to be on a web server somewhere and not just on your computer.
For instance, I have an image hosted on my web site. To view the image using a web browser you'd open the web address (or URL) http://www.paulburwell.com/forum/WJ7V13035.jpg in your Internet browser.
To display the image on this site I take the URL for my image and wrap it in a couple of "tags" called BBCode. Please note that in order to show you the BBCode, I had to click the "Disable BBCode in this post" option in the area immediately below the message entry area, otherwise you'd just see the image and not the BBCode.
So the BBCode to display my image referenced above is:
So, in short, you put a [img] at the beginning of the URL and then you put a [/img] at the end of the URL.
Also, if you click on the BBCode link that shows up on the left side of the screen (under Options) when you are entering a message, you get a page that shares some similar information and presents usage for other tags for formatting messages.
Images should be 720 pixels (or less) on the long side.
Please let me know if that helps you out or just confuses the matter.
I'll follow up this post with another that just displays the image.
