GoPro Hero 2

Picked up an odd bit of kit, at least for me.
A GoPro Hero 2 (outdoor edition) camera.

Why is it odd for me?
Is it the basic  operation (it only has 2 buttons)?
Is it the ability to go to 60 meters under water? (not likely to find me there, at least not often but I do kayak)

It is comfortable in the snow (its battery is heated to prolong operating life in the cold)
It is a small rugged wearable  POV camera, you activate and forget. for now I have it bolted to my cycle helmet.
(it has no built in lcd, you can buy an optional lcd if you really want to review what you are doing,  which can be a bit dangerous for a first person viewpoint action camera)
You can also buy an optional wifi back and send your work direct to a pad or laptop)

Its main features include

  • 120 fps WVGA, 60 fps 720p, 48 fps 960p, 30 fps 1080p Video
  • Full 170º and Medium 127º FOV Photos
  • 10 11MP Photos Per Second Burst (10 shots in one second!)
  • 1 11MP Photo Every 0.5 Sec Timelapse Mode (with a class 10 or faster card), the built in intravoltmeter has many settings up to several minutes between images.
  • option to take 11mp or 5mp still images.

Anyway I just picked it up before the long weekend started and
done gone and made a short 1080p hero2 timelapse http://t.co/v8wjha3R  to test it out.
