Spent a rainy day hiking the 10+ kilometers up Paradise Valley trail in Banff National Park to reach this waterfall. I knew they would photograph best under soft, diffuse light. When I reached the trailhead there was a warning notice indicating it was mandatory to travel in a group of four due to grizzly bears frequenting the area. Since I was by myself, I had given up and tentatively made other plans. As I began hiking back down the trail to the parking lot, a family of three from Houston, Texas, was coming up. I asked if I could join them as they hiked up the valley but they indicated they were only going partly up, to Lake Annette. Once at the lake, I wound up talking them into going all the way the falls...no one was disappointed!.
