About the contest

Every month the Editor-in-Chief of Outdoor Photography Canada magazine will assign a photo shoot to all readers. Each month will have a different theme. The participants will have one month to complete the assignment and upload their image. Each participant can only upload one image per assignment, so make it your absolute best shot.

All photographs entered in any Outdoor Photography Canada magazine contest remain the property of the photographer. The photographer, by entering the contest, agrees that his or her photo may be published by SunLight Media Inc. one time as it relates to the contest both in print and on the OPC website. No other usage of any photograph entered is authorized or implied.

This months assignment: January

Challenge yourself to this January editor’s assignment by creating lifestyle or sport winter images.  Adding human elements will push you into areas some may not have gone, but by using your creative vision to execute a more difficult image, the reward will be that much greater.  Your entry must be Canadian.  Remember your technical skills as well as your creative ones. Only one image from all submitted images will be chosen as the January assignment winner. Each person can only enter one photo. The deadline for this assignment is February 10, 2012.  Anything uploaded after the deadline will be ineligible.

Please be advised that images uploaded must be approved by an administrator before they appear in the gallery.

Prizes: The winner of the January assignment will be published in the April 2012 issue of OPC. The winner will also receive a set of O' Canada greeting cards by OPC columnist Kelly Funk.
