United Planet Holding Third Annual Multimedia Contest
Encouraging video, writing and photo submissions to celebrate “United Planet Day”- autumnal equinox, prizes to winners
United Planet is running a contest to foster the celebration of the autumnal equinox, in which the sun shines equally on all parts of the Earth, on September 23, 2011. The entries, in the form of video, photography, or writing, should illustrate the ideas of cross-cultural understanding, friendship, and supporting one another in their own community or abroad.
A winner will be chosen from each of the three categories. One grand-prize winner is to receive either one United Planet Volunteer Abroad Quest for up to two weeks to a short-term location of his or her choice, not including airfare, or a prize of $300. The remaining two winners will receive $100 each. Additionally, the winning entry will be featured on the United Planet website and in their upcoming newsletter. The deadline for the contest is September 23, 2011.
Submissions can be made on United Planet’s website, through their Community application at www.upcommunity.org. For more information on the contest requirements and guidelines, visit http://www.unitedplanet.org/united-planet-day-contest.
